Filming Day 2
On are second day of filming we interviewed C.J at W13 studios in west London. Filming in a recording studio gave us some good opportunities to capture a range of interesting and unique shots, which would be hard to incorporate any other day, as we wouldn’t have the luxury of filming in a studio any other day.
When interviewing C.J we decided to have him sitting symmetrical to the studio equipment we had mainly a mid shots of C.J when we were filming, however we tried to in capsulate the emotional and sympathetic aspect of the interview by having close ups at specific points of the interview. We did at one point want to change the angle of the interview, as so it would have a interesting appeal towards the audience; however when starting too film at this particular angle we felt that even using the reflector we couldn’t get the right correlation of light between the background and our interviewees face. On our second day of filming we also got a few cutaways several of these were: The word positive painted as part of a design on the studio wall we felt this was an extremely relevant phrase to capture, as in relation to our what our documentary (what about the families) we felt this was a key phrase to film. We did also get some other shots of C.J inside the booth creating music, which we may find useful when we are editing our complete. All and all filming on day two ended a successful day with is group acquiring some very useful footage.
