New Developments

Being more and more familiar with the software I was able to play around with the audio and footage more effectively. I have done a few edits where the voice of the person is playing while looking at another scene then having a transition to bring the person talking into the frame.

I successfully added the subtitles to the phone call section of our doc. and decided to have certain phrases by themselves on the screen in order to create effect, for example the sentence: "It's not worth it."
A few alterations to the footage was also made and transitions, trying to get the timing right and the length of it correct.

Using the  audio.lgfl.org.uk website I was able to find several tracks that we could possible use for the backing track for our documentary, from these I cut it down to a possible two tracks: Hip Hop Apocalypse by Matt Hill and Peace by David Michael; which I then turned into a AIFF form to be able to play in Final Cut Express. Myself and Jamal then tested to see which track was suitable to set the mood for the piece and decided on Peace by Matt Hill as it set the right solemn mood which we were aiming to create.
